Custom bedding design for elevated bedrooms

Tailored bedding design bringing cohesion and serenity to your primary bedroom.

The bedroom is the most overlooked room in the home, yet the most deserving of attention.

The primary bedroom is often the last room to be finished. Living spaces come first. Kitchens are prioritized. And somewhere along the way, the room where you begin and end each day becomes an afterthought.

But your bedroom is where life slows down. It should feel intentional, layered, and a place for rest and recovery. Suzanne Schultze Interior Design’s approach is both intuitive and informed, designed to flow with your life, starting with where you rest.

With high-end, exclusive fabrics and tailored details, we design custom bedding that completes your sanctuary and feels entirely your own.

What makes a bedroom distinctly yours?

An elevated bed is never accidental. It is proportion, layering, and fabric working in quiet cohesion.

Retail bedding, even on the high end, is designed for scale.

Pillow sizes are standardized. Fabric selections are limited. The result can be beautiful, but rarely tailored to a specific room.

Custom bedding design allows for something more considered.

Suzanne develops balanced pillow configurations by bed size, curates trade-only fabrics unavailable in stores, and partners with skilled workrooms for construction, like hidden zippers and tailored finishings.

The difference is subtle, but it feels transformative. A custom bed doesn’t simply decorate the room. It completes it.

Kind Words

  • We recently purchased a new condo after living in our previous home for over 30 years. We needed everything new because the spaces were very different and wanted to start fresh. After an initial consultation, Suzanne provided a proposal and it was obvious that she really listened to us. She understood the “feeling” we wanted to create and came up with ideas that we never would have on our own. She is collaborative, creative and thoughtful and we have totally enjoyed working with her.

  • Suzanne has been our designer for three different homes, and each time I am even more impressed with how she transforms an ordinary space into something extraordinary. Not only does she have great taste, she's so easy to work with. She's meticulous about measurements, colors, budget, and room. She always gives me several options to choose from, so the final result is still my style, but elevated. My husband and I refuse to make any home design decisions without her input!

  • My wife and I have settled into our new house and I want to thank everyone for the help making this new house the functional and beautiful house we need. Not only has she already become more independent, she is sleeping very well. And our family was able to spend a weekend at our house, which hasn't been true since before 2018. Our brother has the same disease and is more progressed - but we were able to accommodate his needs the entire weekend. We appreciate how everyone was helping us consider how to further improve the design and function. It felt like a team getting us to the end, throughout the purchase/build.

Custom bedding FAQs

Here to help

  • Yes, and intentionally so. Custom bedding is made to order using high-end, often exclusive fabrics, with trims and special treatments, and is fabricated in professional workrooms with refined construction details such as hidden zippers and professional finishings. A fully layered bed involves multiple bespoke pieces, and the investment reflects that level of craftsmanship and individuality.

  • Retail collections, even beautiful ones, have to stay generic and are designed for scale. Fabrics are edited for broad appeal, and configurations are standardized. Working with Suzanne gives clients access to a wide world of trade-only fabric, patterns, prints, and trims that aren’t available anywhere else. The result is a bed that not only is entirely irreplaceable, but it anchors the space rather than simply decorates it. Suzanne’s clients are often delighted by how elevated and cohesive the space becomes, tying the whole room together in a way a packaged retail option never could.

  • No. This offering is open to new and past clients and can stand alone as a bedroom refresh or complement a full-service project. It works seamlessly both locally and virtually.

  • Approximately three to four months from consultation to delivery. Custom fabrication takes time, and that pacing is part of what ensures an intentional and lasting result.

  • It depends on your style and the feeling you want to create. Suzanne uses proprietary pillow configuration templates by bed size. For a king, arrangements typically range from a streamlined 3-pillow setup to a layered 6–8-pillow setup. No matter the arrangement, Suzanne ensures they’re always proportioned and never excessive.

  • Yes, this process is fully virtual-friendly. Clients share photos, paint colors, and bedroom details, and receive a physical swatch kit to review fabrics in their own space before selecting a final design.
